Arcelor Mittal will further reduce crude steel production in Europe

Affected by the recent sluggish market in Europe and the growing steel imports, Arcelor Mittal announced on May 6 that it plans to reduce the output of European companies. On May 29th, it announced that it decided to further reduce its thickness in Europe steel production.


It is understood that Arcelor Mittal will reduce crude steel production in Dunkirk, Germany and Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany; in the fourth quarter of this year, reduce crude steel production at Werder Bremen in Germany, At the same time, the blast furnace shutdown maintenance period planned by the steel mill was extended; the blast furnace shutdown maintenance period of the steel mill in Asturias, Spain was extended in the fourth quarter of this year.

On May 6, Arcelor Mittal announced through its official website that it decided to suspend its steel production in Krakow, Poland, and to cut production at the Asturian steel mill in Spain. In addition, in line with the management policy of cost and quality prior to production, the planned production plan of 6 million tons of crude steel with an annual output of Arcelor Mittal Italy will be suspended. These measures will result in Arcelor Mittal's annual crude steel production in the European region temporarily reduced by 3 million tons.
