China Iron and Steel Events in 2018---Management reform

On January 31st, Angang was transformed from a state-owned enterprise to a wholly state-owned company, and its name was changed from “Angang Group Corporation” to “Angang Group Co., Ltd.”.


On February 2nd, as of the end of 2017, China Baowu reduced the number of legal persons by 180, with a reduction rate of 28.4%. The number of legal persons was controlled within 500 households, and the company’s commitment to the SASAC was exceeded one and a half years ahead of schedule. The annual task was completed in two years, and the target task was praised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.


On March 21, Shougang Shuigang held the inaugural meeting of the business department and began to implement the business department system.

On March 28th, the world's first large-scale blast furnace control center independently built by Baosteel Co., Ltd. was built and put into operation, realizing centralized operation control and production management of four blast furnaces at Baoshan Base, and remote technical support for other base blast furnaces.


On March 29th, 13 steel enterprises won the National Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Achievement Award.


On April 10, Liugang’s middle-level cadres “who stood up” and re-competed for posts.


On May 30, Maanshan Iron and Steel officially established a financial sharing center.


During the safe production month in June, the majority of steel enterprises deployed related activities, among which China Baowu promoted safety culture integration and innovation from four aspects: safety concept, safety environment, safety system and safety behavior. Shagang launched “Shagang Steel Safety Production for three years”. The implementation plan of the plan and the work plan for June, Shanxi Steel held a safety commitment signature event.


On June 11, the comprehensive pilot program for Shougang's deepening reform was officially issued.


On July 24th, Maanshan Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd. and the company also obtained the “AAA” credit rating of China Credit International Credit Rating Co., Ltd. and United Credit Rating Co., Ltd.


From July 31, Shangang has implemented a new performance appraisal and compensation management method for the person in charge of the second-tier enterprise, which is closely linked to the business performance. The salary is based on the local minimum wage income and is not capped. The new approach will last for three years.


On September 5th, Shangang accelerated the reshaping of the scientific and technological innovation system and will further promote the reform of the system of scientific and technological innovation.


On November 8th, China Baowu WISCO fully implemented the “Industrial Horse Racing” term of operation responsibility system.


On November 13th, the great change - the grand opening of the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, the debut of the democratic management of Shougang.


On December 20th, Maanshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. will create a lean factory roadmap and submit it to the employee representatives for discussion and approval.
