Australia launches first anti-dumping sunset review investigation involving steel bars in China

On March 3, 2020, the Australian Anti-dumping Committee issued Announcement No. 2020/020, stating that, in response to an application submitted by an Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd, it has launched the first An anti-dumping sunset review investigation. The products involved do not include ordinary round rods, stainless steel and steel mesh. The survey excludes Spanish companies NervaceroS.A. And Taiwanese companies PowerSteelCo. Ltd. The dumping investigation period in this case is from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, and the damage investigation period is from January 1, 2015. The Australian customs codes of the products involved are 7213.10.00.42, 7214.20.00.47, 7227.90.10.69, 7227.90.90.01, 7227.90.90.02, 7227.90.90.04, 7228.30.10.70, 7228.30.90.40 and 7228.60.10.72.


Stakeholders should submit relevant materials before April 9, 2020.


On October 17, 2014, Australia initiated an anti-dumping investigation into steel bars imported from South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Turkey. On November 19, 2015, Australia made an affirmative final ruling on anti-dumping on imported products from South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Taiwan, and a decision to terminate anti-dumping investigation on imported products from Malaysia, Thailand and Turkey.
