(1) The national "Eighth Five-Year Plan" key industrial test project of the State Planning Commission-Qinghai brine magnesia industrial test project.

(3) The "One-stop" sub-project of the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" of the National Economic and Trade Commission "Special refractory materials for external refining technology". 

(4) "National Engineering Research Center for Refractories" project of the State Planning Commission. 

(5) The State Planning Commission's National "Ninth Five-Year" Key Scientific and Technological Tackling Plan-"Development of Special Refractory Products". 

(6) The "One-stop" sub-project of "Ninth Five-Year Plan" of the National Economic and Trade Commission "Special refractory materials for dry quenching technology". 


In order to organize and implement the hard-won national refractory science and technology project and solve the problems of the whole refractory industry, the Ministry of Metallurgy attaches great importance to it. Breaking the departmental frame, organizing and mobilizing the power of the entire industry, led by the Ministry of Metallurgy, the United Nations National Building Materials Bureau and the China National Light Industry Council jointly organized and implemented two key scientific and technological projects in the "Eighth Five-Year Plan" and "Ninth Five-Year Plan". A leading group with Yin Ruiyu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry as advisors (members of the chief comrades of the three departments), and an expert group with Mr. Zhong Xiangchong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as advisors have been established. These national science and technology projects are hosted by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry (Bureau), the competent department of the industry, aiming at solving the products urgently needed by the industry (market), organizing superior forces in the entire industry including universities, scientific research, production, and users, and adopting the four "production, study, research and application" An integrated approach, aiming at the most advanced products and technologies imported and foreign, according to the characteristics of China’s refractory resources, realizing localization and forming production technology and key equipment with unique characteristics of China’s resources, and research in many important frontier fields Also made a breakthrough. Through the implementation, promotion, and application of these national scientific and technological projects, the overall level of China’s refractory industry has increased from the backward level in the 1960s and 1970s to the international advanced level in the late 1990s. Many of them were at that time. The international leading level of the company has achieved major development by leaps and bounds, kept up with the rapid development of high-temperature industries such as iron and steel, and achieved huge economic and social benefits. More than 95% of refractory materials used in steel, building materials, light industry and other industries have realized localization, ending the situation where most refractory materials are imported, and beginning to transform into a refractory powerhouse "from buying to selling". Well-known foreign refractory material groups (companies) have sold "bricks" to us at high prices in the past, and have begun to invest in China to establish production and research and development bases. During this period, China's refractory industry has achieved remarkable results in production equipment and technology, discipline construction, talent training, and the comprehensive strength of scientific research institutes and universities. Hundreds of units and hundreds of scientific and technological personnel in the industry have undertaken the tasks of these scientific and technological projects (projects or topics in the project, special topics, etc.), forming a batch of patented technologies, publishing papers, reports, and publishing works totaling more than one hundred articles (Ministry), has won hundreds of provincial and ministerial and national scientific and technological awards, and has cultivated a large number of industry-leading scientific and technological talents. It can be said that the "Eighth Five-Year" and "Ninth Five-Year" five-year plans are an important period of opportunity in the history of the development of China's refractory industry.
